this summer was okay, some things great and other things poor, and other things just mid, but that’s just how it goes.

let’s start with the good

  1. I got a job, SWE Intern at Atlassian
  2. I was in SF (TX summer is brutal)
  3. Payday on Friday (always nice)
  4. Food (so many good varieities of food)
  5. Completed the first part of my AI4ALL program
  6. Completed the first part of my Break Through Tech program
  7. Got the Return Offer to come back to Atlassian full time
  8. Got a camera and took some nice photos
  9. public transit actually exists and is functional in SF

moving onto the bad

  1. finding housing in SF, i spent more on hotels than the eventual apartment
  2. my bag exploded on itself, on my return flight to ATX
  3. worked ~70 hours final week at Atlassian, to get project over the line
  4. forgot to sign up for a recruiting event at roblox
  5. didn’t network as much
  6. didn’t do as much touristy things around SF
  7. paused research at UTD to focus on other projects in different programs
  8. the ai ads everywhere

all in all, i think this was a great summer, got to experience some positives and negatives of a big city, one of the biggest in the world. got to try out new food, meet new people, ship good software, and just learned a lot about myself. also learned a lot about using ai and ai tooling, since it’s just the SF special
